What is Story Teller?

Story Teller writes a personalised bedtime story for your child and narrates it — in your own voice, if you record one. You choose the theme, the characters and the lesson; the story is written around your child by name.

Do I have to record my voice to start?

No. Every account can use the built-in narrator voices, and the Classics shelf at the top of your library holds ten well-known tales that are already narrated in your language. Those cost nothing and need no setup — a good way to hear how the app sounds before you spend anything.

Credits

How do credits work?

A story costs one credit per voice. Narrating one story in one voice is one credit; narrating the same story in both Mum's and Dad's voice is two. Length does not change the price — every story is about five minutes.

New accounts start with one story credit and one voice credit, free.

When exactly is a credit taken?

Not while the story is being written. Story Teller writes two different versions of your story — one by each of two AI models — and shows you both. A credit is only taken when you choose which version to narrate.

Why do I get two stories?

Because the same brief produces two genuinely different tales, and which one suits your child is a matter of taste, not quality. Read both, pick one — or pick both, which costs a credit each.

What if I never choose?

You can walk away from a pair without paying. After three such pairs, the next story is written once, narrated automatically, and uses one credit. Choosing a story at any point resets this. In normal use you will not run into it.

Do the Classics cost credits?

No. They are the same for everyone, already narrated, and free to play as often as you like.

Do credits expire?

No. They stay on your account until you use them.

A plan's allowance is used before any credits you bought, and whatever is left of it does not carry over to the next period. Credits you bought never expire, plan or no plan. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Your voice

How do I record one?

Settings → Voices → add a voice, then read the script on screen. A recording must be at least 15 seconds and stops automatically at 60. Somewhere around 40 seconds of calm, natural reading gives the best result.

My recording was rejected — why?

The app checks the audio before accepting it, because a poor reference makes every story narrated from it sound poor. A recording is refused when it is:

• too short — under 15 seconds
• too quiet — usually the phone is too far away, or the mic is covered
• too loud — the signal is clipping; move the phone back a little
• mostly silence — less than a third of the recording contains speech

Record in a quiet room, hold the phone about a hand's length away, and read at the pace you would use at bedtime.

How long do you keep my recording?

For as long as you keep that voice. The narrator is not a summary of your voice that we made once — the model reads your actual recording every time it speaks, so we hold on to it. It is stored encrypted, never shared, and never used to train anything. Delete the voice profile (or your account) and the recording is deleted with it. See the Privacy Policy.

Can I add a second voice?

Yes — each voice profile costs one voice credit, and there is no limit on how many you keep. You can also send a family invite: a relative records on their own phone, without installing anything, and the voice lands on your account.

Listening

Does it work without internet?

Yes, once a story has been downloaded. It stays playable on a car journey or anywhere else with no signal.

Does the story keep playing when the screen locks?

Yes. Playback continues and the usual controls appear on the lock screen.

What can the player do?

• Sleep timer — the story fades out gently rather than stopping dead
• Playback speed, from 0.7× to 1.5×
• Repeat one story or the whole library
• Background sounds — rain, waves and similar, mixed under the narration
• Switching voices mid-story, keeping your place

Can I get a sequel?

Yes. Open a story and choose to continue it. The next episode keeps the same characters and world, opens with a nod to what happened before, and tells a new adventure. Each episode is a normal story and costs the same.

Children and data

How many children can I add?

Five per account.

Is my child's information safe?

Names and ages are used only to write the story and are never used for advertising. Story Teller is for ages 13 and over and is made mainly for parents: you set everything up and play the stories to your child. Ads are treated as child-directed for everyone — never personalised, rated G — and the app does not read your device's advertising ID. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

What is the consent screen I saw before adding my child?

To write a story we send what you type — your child's name, age and the things they love — to the services that write it, Anthropic and OpenAI. Neither uses it to train their models. The screen asks you to agree to that, and we record your answer and its date. You can read it again or change your answer any time in Settings → AI use consent.

What happens if I withdraw that consent?

No new stories can be written, because writing one means sending those details. Stories you already have keep playing, and the Classics are unaffected.

How do I delete a voice, a story or a child profile without deleting my account?

A voice: open the voice in the app and delete it. The voice recording itself is deleted with it — we keep no copy. Stories already narrated in that voice keep that narration until you delete the story.

A story: in your library, open the story's menu and delete it. Its text, cover and every narration of it are deleted.

A child profile, or anything else: email studio@mellivoai.com from the address you signed in with and tell us what to delete. We do it within 7 days and reply to confirm.

Deleted items leave encrypted database backups within 30 days.

How do I delete my Story Teller account?

In the app: Settings → Delete account. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

Without the app (for example, if you have already uninstalled it): email studio@mellivoai.com from the address you signed in with, with the subject "Delete my Story Teller account". We delete it within 7 days and reply to confirm.

What is deleted: your account and sign-in email, child profiles (names and ages), every voice profile together with the voice recording itself, all stories and their audio, consent records, purchase and subscription history, and the device tokens used for notifications.

What is kept: nothing in our live systems. Encrypted database backups roll off after 30 days, so a deleted account disappears from them within that time. Apple and Google keep their own record of what you bought; we cannot delete that.

Subscriptions are not cancelled by deleting your account. Cancel first in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or you will keep being charged.

Something is wrong

My story failed to generate

No credit is charged for a story that fails, and any credit already taken is returned automatically. If it happens twice for the same story, write to us with the story title.

A purchase did not arrive

Credits usually appear within seconds. If they do not, reopen the app first — a pending purchase is picked up on launch. If it still has not landed, send us the store receipt.

Hesabımı silmeden bir sesi, masalı ya da çocuk profilini nasıl silerim?
